In “Sex and the City”, we saw Carrie Bradshaw living the single life with her 3 best friends in a small, yet fabulous apartment in the New York. Her apartment changes over the series, but it always stays true to her awesome style.
The apartment in the TV series as shown. The apartment is very “Carrie”- a mix of different styles, a bit messy, but nonetheless a cool place to live.
Black and white photography is hung all around, with countless books and of course some piece fashion laying everywhere. This first apartment was much cozier and more Carrie’s style than the redone version in the movie.
The movie-makeover of Carrie’s apartment was argued about in blogs as some felt it did not showcase her personality.
The electric blue paint on the walls makes it feel bigger than the last apartment, which was custom mixed for the set as the wall color. White lamps, sheer curtains, and a purple & white carpet are among the many changes.
The redone apartment is stylish and extremely neat and decked to the nines. I think that for Carrie it is too straight lined and does not reflect her style.
What do you think of Carrie’s apartment from ‘Sex and the City”? Do you like the original or redone version?

Carrie Carrie Carrie… I loved this show so much and used to lock myself in my bedroom (this was while I had young kids) to watch it. As for the apartment, I much prefer the first one.
Thanks Kelly. I like the earlier version of Carries apartment better. I like a place to look liveable.
I wasn’t fond of J Lo’s. I like the pale blues, whites and greys for a beach house. With some beadboard, that kind of thing. Not so much for a more formal home. It looks too cold for me.
Do you know where I can find the horizontal striped curtains in the first apartment? Also, do you know the name of the paint color in the bedroom of the first apartment?
